This was Dylan's first go at eating spaghetti by himself.

This was swimming. He is really good and loves to put his head under and blow bubbles.

Dylans Birthday

(I really should have taken a photo of the cake when I first made it!!!)

So our little man turned one!!!
He had a great day unwrapping presents and playing outside. We had scrambled eggs for breakfast and the 3 of us spent the day playing with his new toys, swimming and just wandering around outside.

Then we had a sausage sizzle out at the lake in the arvo. Dylan had some fairy bread and some milk arrowroot faces and LOVED playing in the dirt. The cake was on the table and he managed to reach up and grab a handful when no one was looking. It was such a great day and we just can't believe how quick the year has flown by.

This was eating the fairy bread....

Trying to get another handful.....

Our Holiday...

Well we had a great time away and so good to see everyone.

The flights were a little hard as Dylan hated sitting still for so long. He didn't sleep very much, but everyone loved him and he enjoyed leaning over looking up and down the isle and standing up on my lap pulling faces at the people behind us.

So... we stayed the first night in Newcastle at Grandma's house, then went up to Forster for a few days. I tried to take Dylan swimming at the beach, but he didn't like it very much. He hated the feel of the sand and the waves were very loud! So we went for a swim at the aquatic center instead. Dylan loved Millie (and she loved him!!) and he found lots of stuff to play with at Poppy Ronny's house. He discovered the stairs after a few days and spent hours throwing his car down and crawling down after it. He crawled forwards for a little while and thankfully there weren't any falls.
Dylan met his only cousins for the first time too, maybe next time we see them they will all be old enough to have a proper play.

We then stopped off to visit the great grandparents on our way down to Sydney and then Great Grandma and Grandpop Hartley came over for dinner too. All were very excited to see us. Unfortunately I put Dylan to bed before I though to get a photo of him with the Hartleys so I'm very disappointed about that.

We had a day out in Sydney with Grandma, Aunty Kate and Aidan. We met Deb at Coogee beach for a quick coffee and play in the park. It was very cold and windy though. Then we went to the Aquarium. Dylan had a ball. He walked around everywhere and talked to all the fish and all the people and just loved it. It was a great day and maybe next time we will have a trip to the zoo!!

We then headed back up to Newy for the last few days. Grandma took Dylan to Blackbutt Reserve for a couple of hours to see the koalas, wombats and peacocks. I think they had a wonderful time, but while they were doing that I got my hair cut, had a manicure, pedicure and facial. It was lovely, thanks mum and Kate.

Then it was home again. Whilst we had alot of fun down there, it was great to get home and we missed Daddy very much.

Now, since we have been back..... Andrew has got his new car, a new Hilux Dualcab. He is very happy with it and was just so glad to get rid of the old one. Dylan has his 5th tooth coming through, top left. Rocky got out and was attacked by some other dogs. He was very close to dying, but is slowly getting better. It's Dylan's birthday on monday. We are taking him out to the lake in the arvo so he can have a play and run around in the park. It was a bit hard to organise a party cause the boys are working weekends and then others are working during the week. But I'm sure he will have fun and I will make him a yummy cake. Then Poppy Ronny is up for a visit next thursday. And not long till christmas. Andrew will be on nightshift and CJ and Shaun will be on dayshift for christmas so not sure we will be doing much.

Hope everyone is well and I will do another post in a while with some photos from Dylans birthday.

Nearly Holiday Time

Well, we are off on holidays tomorrow. Dylan's first plane trip. We are very excited and a bit nervous. Hopefully Dylan will sleep the whole time and catch up on all the sleep he has lost over the last week! His 2 top teeth are on their way and we have been up and down a fair bit lately. And Dylan has turned into a big sook too! Everytime I walk away from him he cries real tears.

Last week I put Dylan on the beanbag and swished it around a bit and picked it up with him lying on it. He's so funny, now he walks over to it and throws himself down on it and rolls over.
And he lies down on the floor playing dead too. It's so funny cause he is NEVER still, so when he does this you just have to laugh.

Nanna tried to lock Dylan in the fridge last week!

Well, thats it for now. I have lots to do today. Have to go shopping for Andrew so he doesn't eat Maccas everyday (although he probably will anyway!), and get all the washing done and house clean.

And we will have some holiday photos and videos in a couple of weeks. YAY

More videos from the park

This was Dylan having lots of fun playing with the ball. He's a fast learner!

And this is Dylan telling me a story when we were on our way to the park.
Andrew whispers in Dylans ears all the time and Dylan just freezers and listens to his Daddy. Now Dylan whispers too. He's so cute.

Playing at the Park

Seeing as we STILL have 4 dogs in our yard, we can't play outside at the moment. So I took Dylan up to the park yesterday. He had lots of fun and I think I must have worn him out cause he came home and slept for almost 2 hours.

He has almost got the hang of walking. He has done over 20 steps and lets go of things and toddles off by himself. So he will be walking properly by the time we get down there I'm sure.

We can't wait to have a swim at the beach!! Although I bought him a rash shirt last week and when I went to put it on him I couldn't get it over his head!! Then I remembered Grandma had bought him one which was size 1 so we tried that. But no, his head's just too big!! Get's that from Andrew.

I have more videos to post, but I'm off to work shortly so will have to do it later.

First swim of the season

Ohhh it has been so hot, I am not looking forward to summer at all! The pool has been a bit cold, but Dylan and I thought we would brave it today. It was actually really nice once we got in. Dylan loved it! He was splashing around heaps. We will have to buy him some floaties cause I think he will be too big for the thing we had him in last year.

He hasn't done more than six steps yet. This video is from the same day as the other one.

He has been doing lots of cute and cheeky things lately. He holds his hands together and puts them above his head...
He blows raspberries on the shower screen...

He puts everything to his mouth like he is trying to drink out of it...

He tries to sleep in his highchair...

He crawls around with his tongue sticking out, he makes lots of funny noises, he pushes the kitchen chairs around the kitchen, he knows how to open all the kitchen cupboards and gets very angry if I don't let him. (I think he's gonna be a tantrum thrower!) But he is just cute all over!!

And today he was trying to say mum....

Sooooooo thats our update for today. Can't wait to come visit everyone. And excited (and a little scared) about Dylans first plane trip.

Dylan's first steps!

Well not his very first steps. He started this a week or so ago. He can balance for a little while by himself and his record so far is 6 steps. Don't really know why I'm encouraging him so much, he gets into enough trouble as it is!

We're very much looking forward to our holiday coming up. Only 31 days to go.
Then it will be Dylans first birthday and then christmas. Gee, how this year has flown by. I was only thinking yesterday about what we are going to do with the christmas tree this year. Dylan will pull it to pieces!

Anyway, can't think of any news to tell. Just wanted to put this video up for all to see.

Hope everyone is happy and healthy.

Party Time!!

Well, September is our very busy birthday month. There's mine on the 17th, CJ's on the 19th, Andrew's dad on the 21st and mum on the 23rd. Plus Shaun's girlfriend was on the 12th I think. She turned 21 and had a fancy dress party which is what the photo is from. We had a good night and Nanna took Dylan home so we could go out for a bit of a dance at the Irish Club. And yes we did go out all dressed up. Everyone was very impressed to see the clown!!

The next day wasn't nice, after having just 3 1/2hours sleep, Dylan woke at 7am. He pretty much owned the house for the day, so by the time he went to bed sunday night the house looked like it had been through a hurricane!!

So, this is what Dylan likes to do.....

Nanna Deb turns 50 this weekend!!!
We are having a birthday lunch on Sunday and then Deb and Gary are having an exciting and relaxing week away at Cairns next week.

Anyway, Dylan is due to wake very soon and then we are heading over to CJ's new house to give him some pressents and take him out to lunch.

Bye for now

Teeth at last!

Well, Dylan has finally got his first teeth. His 2 front bottom teeth broke through on tuesday. He has been handling it quite well and been sleeping good this week. YAY!

As you can see above he is growing up very quickly. He looks like a real little boy now. He has taken control of Andrew's remotes!!! I'm not even allowed to touch them!

And he got into the baby wipes one day. I think they felt good on his gums. He was pulling them out one by one, sucking them and throwing them away. Oh, and he can now reach the toilet paper roll! He used to stand there trying to reach it while I was in there, but now I have to lock him out cause he pulls all the paper off the roll. Thinks he is soooo clever!

It's nearly time for swimming again. Dylan can't wait to get in the pool. We have been putting our feet in and he splashes around and we both get soked. So now he knows how to splash properly in the bath.

Mowing the carpet

We bought Dylan this lawn mower and were going to keep it till his birthday but couldn't resist. He loves it! We took the handle off for the moment cause it wasn't strong enough to hold him.

Update

So....... my internet friend Meg has kindly set up this blog spot for me so everyone can come visit and see what we are up to. Just trying to work it all out. Hopefully you will all be able to log on everynow and then and watch Dylan grow.

What are we all up to then??? Well Dylan is now 9 months old and doing very well. His bottom teeth will be cutting through any day now. He is walking the furniture and has just started to say Dadda this week. Just in time for Fathers Day.

I am still working part time a few days a week and waiting to get Dylan into daycare. Have been seriously considering resigning, but not sure yet. I guess I might just give it till christmas. I've just booked flights for me and Dylan to fly down to Newcastle in November for a quick visit. Can't wait!

Andrew is enjoying his new job underground. He is driving bigggg trucks and playing with explosives!!! He has been doing some paving out the back this week which is wonderful. And seeing as his car has spent more time at the mechanics than at home the last 6 months, he is looking at trading that in. (Just what we need!!!)
